Had a little issue with the 2k primer again. Then I looked at the thermometer. Yeah, I was shooting it a little warm. 2 coats and sanded it down with 400.

3 coats of red base later...

It's got the usual garage dirt in it but it's red and pretty shiny otherwise. Good enough.

That's about it today. I'll roll the wall up tomorrow and get back on it.

looks good. I just got the cowl painted on mine and the hood is next. I am just using single stage paint. wet sand with 2,000 and 3,000 with a good buff job goes a long way.

Yes. Bugging makes s big difference. Not sure when I'll get to that. Haven't buffed any of it yet and it needs it.

the main thing it will do is get rid of the orange peel or uneven look in the paint. also if there is a few dust specks in the paint they will go away. the red along with basecoat clear coat are a lot more forgiving. the biggest thing is doing the buffing correctly and as long as your carful with the wet sanding.

I am self taught and don't claim to be a master at it but I have gotten good results the way I do it...

Yep. I've never buffed base/clear. Hopefully it will all turn out decent. I'm hoping for a 10 footer at least.

I came home and took pics to send in for the insurance. Hopefully that gets sorted in the next couple days so I can get tags.

In the mean time I broke down the front bumper.

In the process, I found this.

Not sure if it's mine or not. It was wedged in behind the brackets. LOL

I painted the little piece that goes over the wiper motor. Cleaned up a few mount brackets for the AC hoses. Odds and ends.

That was it tonight.
