85 6.9 IDI Will not run

I’ll be putting a new injection pump on this weekend when I get time.

Very interested to know what went wrong in that pump.

I’ll probably do some exploratory disassembly once I get the pump out, frankly I’m curious as well.

How do you have your return off the regulator plumbed? If its teed into the return line to the tank, that extra pressure in the return line can make trucks run poorly as well. the return system needs to be at a very low pressure like 2 psi or something.

The regulator return is ran right back to the lift pump inlet.

I got the injection pump put in, as well as an 11 blade wheel and a .84 AR exhaust housing on the turbo. The thing eats like an Ethiopian orphan at a buffet now. Injection timing isn’t ideal right now. Lots of smoke, engine doesn’t get hot, EGT’s are HOT. I’ve got a timing setup coming to get it lined out and running good.
