few questions,
- is this engine like a larger 12v cummins?
- what did it come out of?
- what are its power levels?

cummins are a throw away block.
this is a 96 DT466. they have wet sleeves, which means, I can pull the liners and install new ones.
230 hp @ 2300 rpms.
with the injection pump being a P7100, I can crank her wayyy up :)
came in box trucks and medium duty trucks.
IMO THE 466 to have.

That is THE dt to have. That stock power spec is just a number, the power that can be had with these is unreal.

Can't you swap dome parts between the 466 and 366 to make more power?
Someone here talked about it.

this engine is capable of all the power I would ever need without swapping anything.

I just want a reliable 400 hp, that's it.

yea ill start another build thread in the conversion when I get on it...
I have some work to do on the MANchero first.

will the 466 fit in a SD truck better then an IDI truck? or is it close in size to the 366?

i guess if i were to do a swap i would use a 466 if i could get one. the cummins swap is as popular as a SBC swap and i have ONE cummins powered truck and thats enough.

im preparing for the worst, and hoping for the best.
cab has to be stripped. including dash.
im hoping it wont be that bad, but im thinking I gotta cut a dog house for it.
going to be deleting all of the electronic stuff and re-wiring the truck.

@no mufflers, it’s a good bit longer and a bit taller than a 6bt. He’s looking at extensive firewall modification. There will likely be a dog house involved. The dt360 is dimensionally very similar to a 6bt. Maybe a little longer. That’s what is in subway’s truck.
