Flushed the radiator and drained the block of coolant, changed all the radiator and heater hoses, changed all the belts while I was at it, etc. Then changed the thermostat, which was a royal PITA. And while I had the alternator off, I swapped in a new vacuum pump and vacuum hose to the brake booster. Vacuum line was failing; brakes are much better now.

Got the rear glass out; I knew there was some rot there to address. Will need to weld in some new metal.

Got the roof spoiler off. I was worried about rot underneath there, too, but didn't find anything. I do not plan to reinstall it.

Replaced the hood cable. Another PITA job, but the old one was about to come apart.

Power steering pump was leaking so I removed it to clean, rebuild, and reinstall. Unfortunately, there are 10 detents and 10 springs that will exit the pump at a high rate of speed if you don't pay attention when disassembling. I found 10 detents but only 9 springs. Went to Napa and picked up a new/reman pump. Installed a new reservoir and my pulley on it and put it in this weekend. Works fine; no leaks.

New battery cables - 2/0 - with crimp on lugs and military terminals. I realize now that I flipped the batteries around from the original location (i.e., now terminals are closer to core support), but I don't see a reason to change it back. Installed new battery trays, too.

Check to see if there's oil in your new vacuum pump. They seem to be blowing apart lately and lack of oil seems to be the main suspect.

I appreciate the offer, but I've got several more waiting after I finish with Brownie! First up is my '69 Bronco project and then my '71 Javelin street legal road racer.

Plus, summer is coming and I can't wait for months straight of 100 plus degrees! :(

Thanks for the kind words. Sounds like you're bandwidth limited like me.

I really need to finish up on Project Brownie and get started on Project Buckshot, my '69 Bronco project that came out of a barn in Mississippi about 10 years ago. It's beat up, but very solid. Anyway, I got it running several years ago and have been collecting parts (spare 302, spare trans, two spare transfer cases, NP-435 trans, an extra Dana 30, and a Dana 44) for a while now. It's at the point that I'm out of room to store any more early Bronco parts so I really need to get started on it.

Pic below is how it looked when I got it.

Finally got around to buttoning up the cowl; had taken it all apart to replace the windshield and clean up the windshield channel.

There was some slight surface rust under the cowl panel so I treated that with POR 15 and then sprayed their top coat on it. Also redid much of the seam sealant. Followed that up with new weatherstrip and a new hood seal and it's all back together.
