I been losing oil sporadically. Pulled in the driveway and backed around and parked. bout 10 minutes later i walked by the front and noticed two oil trails in the gravel. started back up and nothing was leaking. lost a quart of oil. what would cause a sporadic leak? the paths went to center and driverside. its pretty nasty under there, hard to tell

It could be loose head gaskets. Take the truck for a drive then park it over cardboard overnight. The loose head gaskets on my 6.9l were pretty evident by the oil spots on the cardboard.

Could be due to elevated crankcase pressure. Under low load / idling, the crankcase pressure doesn't get high enough to cause a leak, but under higher load, it pushes oil out. Check your CDR valve.

I'd start with the easiest things like oil filter, drain plug then onto rear main and CDR. that's a lot of oil though
