Well guys it been a long time. When I first got my truck, it was pretty clean. As time went on I found more and more things I didn’t like. It’s safe to say the previous owners butchered a lot of body work and after my crash, I really started to find it all as I dug into it. I lost all my steam late last year. I got a new job a few months back as a drilling equipment mechanic, and really had a lot of time to save a bit of money and think on what I wanted to do. This is what I ended up with, as of today. A 1 wonder 86, white 2 wheel drive f250. The passenger fender and door are dented, but the floors are spotless and it hasn’t ever been touched as far as body work. This is my “new beginning” so to speak. This will go on my 4x4 frame with hopefully a 93 turbo engine. I’m especially planning on swapping over my blue interior into this and then that’s really it. It’s really clean as you can see in the pictures of the floor. I’m really excited. It’s going to be a cool truck.

I fully second that. I can wrench all day long.
I used to work in a paint shop. Got really good at buffing cars. Absolutely wrecks my wrists and can't do it anymore.

Speaking of wrists. I broke mine about a month ago, had to get surgery. Been at home for that long just scheming. Probably part of the reason I bought this…

Yeah I discovered rather quickly that I am not a body guy lol. I do not have the patience
Same here. That was my secondary education though. By the time that I was halfway done, I knew that I didn't want to do any auto body for a living, but I did finish the course. It's rare that I pick up a paint gun with the intention to use it these days.

I did too. I was more toward the mechanical side though. It's where I did my two frame swaps. Mostly, we (as a shop) tried to stay away from the automotive part. We painted tractors, other farm equipment, things for the galvanizing plant that was just up the road, semi and their trailers, and other things like that. We also has a contract to paint UPS trucks. I did most of the out of town pick up/drop off after hours. I've been practically to all four corners of Kansas in brown trucks. By the end, we were covering at 2/3 of the state. We also stored a couple of rebuilt engines and a couple of rebuilt transmissions for UPS use during their busy, holiday season. We could get a call in the late afternoon and gave it delivered that night. The mechanics really liked that part.

Hey guys. Unfortunately they’re not all 10/10’s. This one sat for so long inside a barn, it had a bunch of surface rust all over the non painted surfaces under the headliner and down in the corners. No rot at all, and I can’t get to all of it. I cleaned up the majority and sprayed some encapsulator over it. I feel like once it’s out in the sun (especially down in the Central Valley) I won’t really be too worried about any rust. Started putting sound deadening on it. Have all the blue stuff from my old truck’s interior pulled out and will soon throw it into this.

He's ALIVE!! Funny, I was thinking about this rebuild the other day and wondering how it was going.
Haha. I’m back! I guess it’s not much of a rebuild now. Maybe a reincarnation? It’ll look fairly similar in the end. In my search for a replacement I realized how nice and straight my old truck was. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess. Oh well. Onward!

Installing this 05+ swap kit. Better geometry than my stock stuff I had used. It would’ve been fine but I was bored on Black Friday. I will get them powder coated after I get all the holes drilled. I’m hoping to have this frame out at my house by the weekend.

You are going to install the 86 Cab, Bed and front Clip on this 05 Frame?
If I remember right Commieornia goes by the Vin# on the Frame.
So what year is the truck going to be registered as?

I know there is the sticker on the Cab by the Drivers Door
with the Vin# also.

No sir so this is an 80’s frame with 05+ axles and suspension. You are correct that it follows the frame, but that is not a huge concern for me at this point in time.
