In my experience, rv's, travel trailers, and in bed campers, the older they are, the better built they are. Really gives meaning to "ain't built like they used to."

Glad you found one you really like.
You are 100% correct. The aluminum framed ones are even better.

My consensus with campers is that they are all kinda built like **** but just try to find the Amish ones.
What's an Amish camper? Like one with the least amenities?

I've had two different cabover campers, an 8 foot '76 Kit and a 9.5 foot '88 S&S. The S&S was really well made and apparently was a competitor with Lance in it's day. Heavy beast, too. I liked it overall, too much water intrusion but that's how they go... only sold it because my wife won't use it with our 4 kids! Says it's "too cramped" or sumsuch. Slacker! LOL

At this point we camp so little that we will just rent one now that that's a thing and we can rent a VERY nice one for way less than owning it for all the years and dividing it by the times we used it.

No pics of the process but it took an afternoon. Took the seat tracks all apart and cleaned out all the old grease. On the drivers side I sprayed lithium grease in the tracks and on the passenger side I just smeared whatever was in my grease gun on the tracks. Holy crap I wish I used the grease gun on the drivers side, the passenger seat is insane. I mean you can blow on it and it will move forward LOL. Mounted the seats to the pan I bought a while back and test fitted it. Pretty happy with that.

Also made these plates for the wiring and what not. I’ll update when I have some stuff actually wired.

One thing I noticed after I got the Dyna Mat down. On hot days
the tar oozez around the edges of the seams and gets stuck to the carpet on the back side, and anything else it touches.

I don`t have my Sill Plates installed yet, and I see the Tar stuck to the edge of the carpet.
Be a good Idea to use that tin foil type Tape to cover the seams
before you throw in your new Carpet.

That’s smart I never would’ve thought about using aluminum tape!

Looks Great. I love the aux bean type switch panels. They make life 1000Xs easier and they work great,
Yeah I’m a moron and discovered them after I used one on my ranger. It’s so nice not having a ton of wiring. I’ll have a separate relay/fuse box for a key on power relay, fuel pump, and I really want to wire in a relay for max voltage to the blower motor for the high speed setting.

We have carpet. I was so unhappy with how my aftermarket carpet fit I went and bought a nicer blue carpet from a truck somebody was parting out. Had it cleaned super well. Has some fading over the transmission hump but I’m not worried about it.

I bought my replacement carpet through Rock Auto.
Fitment wasn`t too bad. Hardest part was cutting the hole for the T-19 shifter. What ever insulation on the back side was a bear to cut through.
I have the P O R N O red interior, now with the new carpet, newly painted Door Panels and new Volure seats, the truck wants to stop at every cat House here in Nevada

Hopefully you’re not spending much time outside of Elko….. heard there’s a nice ranch out there LOL

I’ll clarify that I’ve never personally partaken in that type of visitation but it sure is funny to imagine the type of person who drives all that way for something like that LOL

Elko? I would be too tired by the time I got there, that`s on the east side of the State. Iam south of Carson City.
There is the Bunny Ranch in Dayton, just east of Carson City
on Hwy 50. and a few others. I think one is the Moon Lite Ranch.
Never been to one, and sure they don`t look as good as Play Boy center Folds..... most likely a bit shop worn.

South of Carson……. Near Gardnerville at all? That’s Dane Rickford’s turf. I go up and visit him from time to time.
