3 alt' s on the yota in 1 year, 2 vato zone and 1 factory(its now 5 yrs old).

issue is with the stock wiring harness.
just slapped another one in and its still not working.

on my powermaster, It don't use a green wire, whats this wire for?

so, i just returned the last alternator from vatozone.
they had to test it, and it indeed failed.
what are the chances of me getting 3 dead alternators in a row from 2 different stores???
going to check if i have an extra alt pig tail, lets hotwire this batch

Yeah it's common. That was me with Azone starters about a year ago. It might take 10 or so, but you'll eventually get a good one!

aaaaaaaand im done IDIn for today.
decided to make a hotwired pig tail(without the greenwire) from the other harness,
went to go put it on,
whos got two fingers up, and drops the charging stud nut behind the alternator bracket??


oops wrong fingers.

ok, i pull the belt off, loosen the bolts, retrieve the nut, put the nut back on, tighten alternator charging nut,
went to put the belt back on,
guess what strips?
the damn idler bolt threads.

i give up for today.
time for rum.

grabbed another tensioner,
got it fixed and put back together,
no charge...
gotta be the f'n alternator.

I have shopkey and can give you a nice diagram if the ground doesn't work. it sounds like that could be your problem.

mind if i take you up on that diagram?
im loosing my mind over here over a damn alternator that should be simple.

Green should be switch 12v I believe.

ive ***** my complete alternator stash.
the only one i know that works that i have is a mini 200A GM 1 wire(cost 450$)
and the powermaster on my truck.
i do not rob parts off my truck for testing reasons.

even tho i know its not charging, there has never been a battery light
