Sweet!!! I’ll send my shipping address. LOL

Nah Brian has my address he’s sent me enough stuff. LOL

I can’t believe I pulled that one out of my...um...ear. Yeah ear. We’ll go with ear. I’ve never had an OBS truck. One more reason not to I suppose.

LOL

well Mike, you were half right.
I got in to change the charging bulb, nothing I could do to get that bulb to light up.
then I realized I have the automatic wiring in it, because that's what fit best.
I also used the manual gauge cluster. which had a diode on the charging light.
after messing with it for a few minutes, I decided to slap the auto cluster in the truck.
guess whos got 2 thumbs up and is now reading 13.8 V?
that's right, shes now charging!
guess you cant simply take a 94 manual gauge cluster and slap it in a 93 auto.
unless you wanna spend some cash and get the powermaster I have, that thing will charge no matter what!

no parasitic loss.
charging just fine.
bunch of work on it today.
fixed the front tank fuel fill
fixed the turbo oil leak
replaced the tensioner and idler,
NO MORE SQUEEK!!
but I went to fill the front tank after working on the fill,
it was reading before, but now its reading past full.
I will pull the connector and clean it
if not its been agreed that he will deal with it later, it may just be corrosion on the coil from sitting(crosses fingers)
as long as she don't leak oil from the turbo the next few days shes doneski!!!
truck is an absolute beast. im loving the 4.10's as long as im not on the freeway.

So I actually read, and I cannot find it right now, that through the OBS era you have to be careful not to mix and match gauge cluster's because they screw with the ability of the alternator to charge. It was typically in two year breaks; 92-93, 94-95, 96-97. However there are some odd ball half year jumps in there, more to do with the gasoline powered pickups. I was looking at adding a tach to a 94 F150 which is where I stumbled upon the information. And I'm sorry that it wasn't until after you fixed this that I remembered. When you mentioned swapping the cluster back my own light bulb came on....

you can actually bypass all that crap with the 3g powermaster
but its 250 bucks.

or wire the 3g up differently. i have no dash in my 86, alt charges 13.8-14.2, been like that for years now. triggered on with the key, sense wire comes off the starter solenoid.

ok Brian I went through and found the list we originally talked about and I think you did everything on it plus some LOL:rock: Let me know if you see anything that was missed.

Build and install engine

All new seals including oil cooler

Make sure tolerances are within spec

Install air to water cooler

Install gauges (I have these and the pillar pod for them.)

Install ZF5 with new clutch

Install hydroboost brake

Move brake pin and Swap pedals

Swap steering columns

Swap dash

Swap mirrors

Fit group 31 batteries

Fix passenger rear door (we have talked about this)

Fuel tank fill hose

Knock out dent (and this)

Seems so simple in list form doesn't it!?! :rotflmao

ive decided that the kids truck will not be modified.
not anytime soon anyways.
he has a 68 Lemans that he is working on, and with this extra side cash, its actually going to my buddys shop for some much needed body work.
that's his 18th b day present.

up next is a 38 chevy pick up, that I need to finish steering, shocks, and some other frame stuff. then get that project gone.

and a money making job, 52 chevy getting a mustang II and triangulated 4 link

so yea gassers are up next.
