Difference between 088 an 093 turbo?

Did the 093 turbo come stock on anything or was it strictly an after market turbo? Also will the banks sidewinder kit work with a factory turbo truck?

The 088 and 093 turbos are named for the year in which they came out(I believe).

The 088 is non-wastegated, and the 093 is wastegated. While the 088 never came stock, the 093 was essentially the stock turbo on the 93-94 IDI Turbo(with some very minor changes I believe).

I don't think you can remove an ATS turbo and install a Banks turbo on the same turbo mount exhaust bracket.

And unless your factory turbo is shot, I don't see why you would want to switch to the Banks.
