Drove across town to trailer home yet another project car. Truck pulled it like it wasn't even there.
Being a mechanic is fun.
What did you get (for a project car)?

I think my husband's greatest regret is supporting me getting a car trailer hahaha

For as many flips I drag home there's probably too many projects snuck in as well

I took a trip to visit my brother and sister in law. I started out going to buy another truck, but it was sold out from under me. I did stop off and buy a crew cab headliner for $40 and a brass/copper radiator for $50 so I was happy. Next I went to the salvage yard where Kansasidi said that there had been a few IDI powered trucks some months back. Nope. All gone. Ok well. I just saved myself some money. I stopped at my brother's house and we pit me nephew's dirt bike back together. Then we went out for a ride. He bought an empty lot 4 or 5 blocks from his house so we started out there. Then we rode out to the two lakes that are west of town. We played around for a couple of hours and rode back to his house. I spent the night with them and had a good time with family. I think it's been 1 1/2 years since I saw them last so it was long overdue. That was yesterday.
Today, on the way back home, I stopped by another guy's farm to drop off a hood and some wheels and tires for a coworker. He said that he'd give me $50 for doing that for him, but wasn't home. I'll get that tomorrow. The farmer had some IDI parts trucks so I stated to get excited. I ended up buying a 4X4 ZF5 for $500. It wasn't a steal, but he swears that it only has a few miles since a rebuild so I'm not too put out about it. He has another one with a BW 13-56 on it so I might try to buy that too. The best part is that he a has an almost complete Factory Turbo engine that I'm going to be buying for $300. It "dropped a cylinder", but the rods alone would sell for less than that. He put the turbo on another truck, but the Y pipe and up pipe are still there. I happen to have a good Factory Turbo and pedestal that I picked up last summer. I know that I can buy a new crossover pipe and a new turbo hat so I'm not worried about those. The engine is missing the IP, gear, and housing, but I have replacements for the gear and housing. Overall, not a bad weekend.

Nice score on the trans. The one project I really want to do is get rid of the e40d and go manual trans. but finding a donor with everything I need is just about impossible.

I wish you’d given me a holler, I was there a couple weeks ago and they’d gotten rid of them. I guess I should’ve told you.

Yesterday I accomplished nothing, wasted all day at a farm auction. I daresay I made up for it today, at least in messiness.

With the warmer weather finally here, it’s time to get going.

I pulled the bed off my 94 F350, mostly to clean up wiring, fuel system, and the frame. Got mostly finished on the wiring, I made a new harness that goes behind the cab, to the fuel tanks, FSV, rear lights, and VSS. Still need to install it, but that won’t be till after I clean it up. I think I’ll put a flatbed with a gooseneck hitch on it. I’ll probably sell the bed that came with the truck. I’ll definitely keep the boxes though. At some point I need to work on the Ramsey winch bumper, and the winch itself. I didn’t take pictures with the bed off, but it’s easy to imagine.

I removed the cab and the bed from my 94 F-Superduty, because the cab is rough, the floorboards are rotten, and the bed was easy enough to remove. I might part this truck out instead, I haven’t decided yet. I could see myself fixing it up and reassembling it. For the now, I removed the hydroboost system, it will be installed on the 94 F350 later. I might take the Heil bed from this truck and put it on the 94 F350 if I don’t put a flatbed on it. I did take pictures of this one…

I also removed the cab and bed from my 88 F350 crew cab. I will keep the engine and turbo system, and sell the bed. I’m undecided on whether or not I would reassemble this truck, as a 4WD. The cab structure has some surface rust, pitted in places, but not rotten through… the frame is good though, could 4WD swap it, and either find a different cab or fix up that one. I think I’d be better off with a different cab though. The turbo will be rebuilt, and the whole 093 kit will be put on my 94 F350.
No pictures on this one, but it was dark by the time I finished pulling the cab.

I might go get another crew cab parts truck next weekend, I want the Centurion interior, E4OD, the cab structure, rear doors, and frame. A friend of mine wants the Powerstroke engine, and another wants the rear axle. Those are the parts I don’t want or need, so that works out pretty well.

Thank goodness for loader tractors… made a breeze out of my day…

Found a screaming deal on a parts truck but more of an excuse to do this trucks first real road trip
Boise ID to Folsom ish CA
1300 miles total
Never been to California before it was as bad as I expected
Truck did not skip one beat and I mean I was not being remotely nice to it at all
The Sierra Nevada mountains and the hills of California are no joke
Did have the throttle stick wide open going down donner pass but dropped some oil on linkages and it was as good as new

Only lost 1/2 quart of oil small diesel leak out the valley but wasn’t an issue
Absolutely pleased

Oh well. That decision didn't come until Friday night when then guy didn't answer back if he'd actually sold the truck. I decided that since I already had the trailer hooked up, I'd just stop by and see. I can also see that I should have told you that I was going to stay in Herington. That, too, was a Friday evening decision. My brother talked me into it.
That’s a pretty good deal IMO
He told me that he didn't know what they were worth and wanted me to make him an offer. I tried t get both the engine and transmission for $500 but he wouldn't go for it.

Week and half ago noticed the Blower didn`t come on low speed when sliding the slider thingy over for heat on floor, mix, etc....
Then Low and medium didn`t work till I hit High.
Got to thinking maybe the Blower resistor, then reading Dbet94IDI Post up above, confirmed it.
Ordered 2 from Taska Auto Parts. Be here some time in the week.
At least these are "Genuwine" Ford parts. Well maybe reboxed China made one`s. Who knows? At least I will feel better they will be in the Ford blue box...LOL

I saw this on Pinterest. Boost VS Lag....

EDIT:

Taska sent me an E-Mail that they cancelled my order.
The Blower Resistor has been deleted from inventory,
NLA from Ford.
