When I go through the engine in my truck I think I want to get some chrome valve covers, and then paint the motor white

Here's the second motor I dropped in my dad's crew cab, after finding out the first one ate a bunch of dirt prior to us owning it.

I didn't pick the color. I probably would have gone with a deep purple. Only cause it's my favorite color

CornBinder Engines were always painted Red, guess it was Ford that wanted them painted Grey.

I think Red would look good.

KansasIDI, don`t know if you can buy IDI VC chrome`d. You could get them Ceramachromed.
(spelling is off) Place in Fresno, Ca. Caps Coating does a lot of Hot Rot stuff, looks pretty good.

I like it!

But I make a motion that "competition orange" be banned and unacceptable as a color for IDI ford engines. Can I get a second???

Except for International application IDIs. They were an ugly light blue color. At least all the ones that I've seen were.
I have never seen an IDI in an International truck. Are they the same color as a DT466? I always liked that color, that would be my second choice for painting an IDI.

I don't know what color the DT466s were. The IDIs were in the S1600 series. Maybe the S1700 too?

You are right, the TD-466 was`t the best looking color of blue.
We got two new international 2 axle Dump/Plow/Sander maintenance trucks. probably the 1800 series, at the end of 81.
Those were good running engines. Too bad they had an auto trans on the back end.

last one I drove for 10 yrs before I retired, was a 95 with a 5 spd box and 2 spd air shift axle. Think it was a 1900 series.
Put 150K miles on it. Last year before they put the computers on the engine.
Same yuck blue engine.
