Time I do mine!
Do’s
1. Change and monitor your coolant often. ONLY use coolant with SCA’s or DCA’s or good diesel specific ELC.
2. Check and change your oil often.
3. Manual bypass glow plug controller
4. 3g 130 amp alternator swap
5. Only use zd9 motorcraft gp’s (7.3)
6. Use and maintain a good quality starter and batteries.
7. Fix your gp’s and USE THEM TO START (novel concept, i know.)
8. Wait to start...... then wait some more...
9. Use good fuel additive. Anti gel additive in the winter is a must if you live below freezing.
10. Enjoy going slower than everyone else
11. Work on your own rig, thats the best part about these engines: they’re simple and easy to work on.
12. Use psd fl1995 oil filter (it’ll fit don’t worry about it
)
13. Use the block heater on a timer.
14. Stomp the gas to the floor when cold starting.
15. Get a 12v socket voltmeter to monitor batteries, charge and gp draw.
Don’ts
1. Crank engine over without gp’s for literally ever! No one likes your 10min idi cold start lubetube video of you murdering your starter! Just sayin...
2. Use ether... just don’t... plz refer to Do’s #7 and 8, and Don’t #1
....
3. Roll coal... no one thinks you’re cool (sry not sry)
4. Don’t ride the rev limiter...
5. Don’t take your old pos to the stealership... they can’t help you...
6. Call your idi a powerstroke...... smh [emoji2357]
7. Rev the bajesus out of your cold motor... (let it warm up for God’s sake, you animal!)
8. Don’t leave that mystery oil and coolant in your rig...
