Do I have a limited slip rear diff?

1994 F350 dually, IDIT factory turbo, auto. Sterling 10.25 rear diff. Changing the fluid; do I have a limited slip that needs the modifier?

Look at the diff tag for an L after the gear ratio, or look at the center section when you have the cover off.

I've never put modifier in a used unit. If anything, it makes then grip a little better again.

IMO, try without... add it later if you need it.

Check the sticker on the driver side door jamb for your axle code, then look at the axle code chart and it'll tell you what you have.

I find that they do need a bottle of modifier once they have some miles on them and are getting worn.
