I suppose I'm one of the late arrivals here. So sorry to hear of his passing. Russ was an invaluable part of the community and I bought many parts from him over the years. Still running one of his Torque cams in my truck.

Mel's alive as far as I know, but he doesn't get on here anymore. He sold Conestoga/Moose Diesel. I'm not sure which Travis you're talking about.
I believe that his daughter operates it now… could be wrong.

I remember Travis and his truck “The Enterprise”. That started back in the early days on the old ford-diesel site before it was renamed thedieselstop. That guy had way more than his fair share of troubles with that truck but I think it’s still around. But the way this community and Russ and Mel and towcat and all the others helped him and all of us back in the day was what got me so interested in these trucks. I think Travis was one of the original organizers of the annual rally. I never would have been driven to figure out all this stuff on my own but with this group of fellow enthusiasts it’s made it so worthwhile. Russ will be missed for sure, I hope he is enjoying a reunion with his daughter on the other side.

Ok. Now I know who Travis is. I can't remember his screen name, but I think he was on here a few months back. I mentioned The Enterprise to him and he said that he sold it a long time ago.
This seems to be right.

He is still around. He and I are very close friends in real life. Both have been busy and don’t see each other like we used to. He doesn’t get on the forum much if at all anymore. He now has a 16 6.7 and a Harley. He does get on Facebook, but doesn’t get in the vehicle stuff on there much.
Yes the Enterprise was something. It actually came from the Ford Dealer around the corner from my house. I actuall test drove it for him before he saw it the first time. He put a ton of time and money in that truck.

I was dead set on getting one of his moose pumps should I have to replace/rebuild the one on my beast.
This is becoming too much like a team of engineers I worked with in a Southern California aerospace contractor. One by one we lost the older guys, and management seemed to think a new college grad would be a drop-in replacement. Nothing could have been further from what happened. We became clusterfsck city, and we ruined our reputation.
These guys are irreplaceable.
The conditions that made Russ and Towcat simply don't exist anymore. This saddens many of us, as we know what we lost.

Been a long time since I've been on here, and saw someone shout out an RIP for Russ. Truly a huge loss.
I was 17(?) when I drove up to his house and bought a used ATS turbo. He was working up at Evergreen and had access to a lift, so one Saturday we got together with a couple of buddies and got it all installed. Never asked for payment, just wanting to help me out. Russ was the type of guy in this niche of the diesel world we should all strive to be. A wealth of knowledge, and willingness to help out if someone needed it.

I'm just so heartbroken for his family, so much loss in such a short amount of time. He was always willing to take time to help me or correct me when I was going down the wrong rabbit hole or remind me to KISS even though I wasn't really a customer. I joined this group I feel just as it was experiencing a shift and drop off of activity and wish I had been around maybe 5 years earlier. What a great community (still is!) and what a loss.

Yes Russ is VERY missed!! He helped me lots!!!!.
Towcat is missed too!!
As well as many others that have passed or not as active as before.
But I still really like & appreciate EVERYONE & EVERYTHING that OB is & has to offer!!!!
And when I joined OB back in '05 I nearly didn't even know how to spell DIESEL but have learned lots, sometimes never saying anything but just by reading and watching others work their way thru problems they were having & OB folks responding with very good serious help.!!!

Drives really slow
Does Mel still have the Moose Truck? He was so hardcore into Diesels and his truck it's hard to believe he isn't on here anymore. I'm wanting to rebuild my engine soon and was looking at having Moose diesel do the injection pump.
Also, when I visited Travis in Indiania back in probably 2003 or 2004 he took us for a ride in the Enterprise. I think he had the water injection going on at that time. I met up with him once in Orlando too and Gainesville when he was down in Florida.
