Unknown starting issue. Problem almost certainly lies with operator.

Got it to run. Just had to get the glowplug system working right. First time in a very long time for this engine. Started it about 5-6 times in the last hour, all went similar to this, including the immediate shutoff after a second or so.

Hoping it’s because I haven’t put the throttle back together yet . Got it stuck under the fuel lines when I wasn’t thinking last night and didn’t have the energy to fix it today.

Feels very good to see that this thing works. The transmission seems to be in gear when I expected it to be in park, as it tried rolling backwards away from me, so I’ll have to figure out what’s what on the shifter as it’s all faded away now.
Sweet!

I think you should go watch some “slave lake” videos from ziptiesnbiasplies on YouTube and you’ll get a quick idea how to incorrectly bring this thing back from the dead and get it to idle.

Let her eat in the ketchup for awhile or at least the mustard and work some fuel through it.

Me personally, I’d hook up a clicky-clack from the Jerry can to feed it. All the while leaving the mechanical lift pump hooked up in a loop feed from the Jerry can and returning to the Jerry can to let it see some exercise. Maybe turn the GP’s back off and feed it some 2-stroke gas through the intake keeping it running. And hold that IP open longer, it has a governor and it ain’t valve float. Or at least I think it does

I strongly support everything said here..... maybe after running it a while like this do an ATF soak with a new fuel filter.
