Facet pump problem?

I know there are numerous posts regarding this but none seemed quite as extreme as my situation. I removed and cleaned filter and bowl on my lift pump cause I was having hard starts and found it to be pretty nasty. I refilled bowl with diesel Kleen and reinstalled. Started right up easy as I could remember in a long time. Let it idle for a while. After probably 10-15 minutes I returned. It was still running well but I noticed the bowl was only 1/3-1/2 full. Seems like an indication the pump isn’t keeping up. But like I said truck sounded totally normal so I’m not sure if I’m imagining a problem or it’s a real one. Thanks for any help!

I wonder if the bowl gasket is leaking and causing it to suck air. You can buy replacement gaskets if it’s cracked, but I would start by making sure the bowl is tight. If you’re getting enough debris in the screen to clog it, it’s probably time to clean out your fuel tanks.

I had some performance issues with the facet pump but was able to increase the fuel pressure about 1-2 psi simply by blowing out the fuel lines with low-psi compressed air. I think I used about 15psi, disconnected the inlet line at the Facet pump and pushed air back through both tanks--remember to remove the fuel tank caps before doing this. My fuel pressure gauge showed a consistent increase in pressure.
