Installed the facet 40223 9-11 psi pump on my truck. I have to say I'm disappointed with its performance. I find that it cannot pump enough when running on wmo. Im running a blend of about 85% wmo and the rest diesel. Under moderate to heavy acceleration the fuel filter light comes on. Even on the diesel only tank the light comes on under heavy acceleration. Its got a new motorcraft filter with less than 500 miles on it so i know it isnt clogged. Im going to experiment with both a higher % of diesel/gas in the blend and with heating the fuel. I purchased a silicone heater pad and am going to attach it to the rear tank and see how that improves flow. As well as some kind of heat exchanger in the engine bay with the heater hoses.

I have not heard much good about those pumps pumping diesel. That is a really thick mix for any electric fuel pump.

I must have got super lucky with my facet, because I’ve heard of several people having your same problem, but mine has been great for 3 years. I run a 50/50 mix of diesel and motor oil, and haven’t had problems running it unheated down to single digit temperatures. Sorry you haven’t had the same experience. I remember someone noticing that the screen filter housing built into the facet can suck air, maybe you should verify that it’s fully tightened.

Ive got clear vinyl tubing between the facet and filter and on the supply line to the facet. I dont see any bubbles. Only after the truck has sat for little while but once its running they are gone. I am running a higher percentage of wmo than you are. I probably will have to go a higher percentage like you if heating alone doesn't help enough. Im out here in Northen California and its 4-5$ a gallon. So im really trying to make it viable to run on 85% or higher wmo.

If it won't keep up with straight diesel, then it won't keep up with heated diesel. The Duralift pumps are known to be junk these days just like a lot of other things. The Duralifts don't provide enough fuel flow.

You might try blowing some lo-psi compressed air back through the fuel lines just to make sure there isn't any partial blockage.

I HIGHLY recommend a mechanical lift pump for running oil. @ROCK HARVEY gets away with it because he bought a pump that was made at 2:30pm on a Wednesday and thus it's of a quality that few know of and he runs a 50/50 mix. Us regular alternative fuel weirdos should probably stick to the mechanical pump, it'll pump sludge fer days.......especially if you can score a Carter that was made after lunch on Wednesday....lol...

As said already, mech pump is the way with thick fuel mixes. Probably be better off with an old grungy used one though. New ones are less than reliable.

Have also seen fuel line size differences in some of these trucks. The two that I have personal experience with wmo, both had 3/8 sized line back to the tanks. Neither had flow problems with wmo, but a few other trucks that I have been around with 5/16 sized line, needed heating to flow well.

Is it possible that your clear line feeding the pump is collapsing with the suction of the pump and weight of the fluid?

If you want to run a high percentage WMO, I think most would recommend cutting it with gasoline instead of diesel. Something called W80 (80% WMO and 20% gasoline) is a common mixture. As other have said though, it sounds like a bette pump is in your future.
