I wouldn’t weld the brackets on
Could you explain why? I like knowing the why'sI wouldn’t weld the brackets on
Not saying it can't be done. I've done plenty of frame welding with a fair amount of success, but I would avoid it if not necessary.Wonder how that holds up when lengthening or shortening a frame?

I was only thinking about welding like a half inch bead on each side, not fully welding it. But I ended up just bolting it because everything was already painted.When you lengthen or shorten frames their are certain techniques you use such as the weld angle, doubling, fish plating.
That aside, I wouldnt weld the brackets on this because they are meant to be non-permanent to the frame and OG setup is riveted. You dont want to weld components like this to the frame and then run into some instance where you have to move or change the brackets and now you are going to risk reducing the metal integrity for sure. You punch and drill when you need a new fabrication. Look at medium and heavy duty trucks they are setup the same way.
Additional factors rivets are cheaper and easier in production. But my primary reason is the easy of removability and replacement. If you take another jump and bend the leaf spring bracket again you really want to grind and cut one off the frame to replace or just bolt a new one in?

To me, that makes a better looking truck than a big flashy one does.I absolutely love the stock look with a little bit of magic on trucks. Never really been into big flashy stuff.
