Not down here, but it looks like we're moving real soon ( reason we need the gravel got to firm up a drive a bit or im gonna sink my rig:-)and they had a huge Ace up where we are going, I may need to look into that, it would cut down on the return mileage a bunch as I think theres a quarry...

check out the Racor CCV It's made for diesels and has an automatic return in the bottom to drain back oil to the crankcase when not pressurized ( you can braze a nipple to the oil dipstick tube)

Trailer towing capacity??? Need help deciphering Ford's Hyperbole!

Yeah, those figures are pretty laughable. Especially when you consider my crew cab with a Western Hauler bed weighs 8k empty LOL and that truck spent the first 200k miles of its life pulling a 3 car wedge for a car lot, and I regularly gross between 18-22+k and it does just fine ( that bed...

    Inquiry about fuel additives

Not wanting to burst your bubble, but 175000km is only 108000 miles, which is just starting to get into normal pump changaover territory for OE pumps that were neglected. Better start saving up your money for a pump:D

    a/c clutch seize up?

If your compressor is jamming up, you really MUST install at the very least a filter in the suction line before teh compressor, and should have one in the line between the condensor ad orifice tube as well. THis is on TOP of flushing he system or your new compressor is likely to fail before...

What tires are decent for mud, snow and towing?

I have the Kuhmo Road Venture MT mud tires on the rear of my dually 235/85-16 Excellent traction on mud, grass, snow, ice not so much, if truck is empty, but with a gooseneck trailer on, handles great . I didnt expect them to last, but I have well over 125k on them and still going strong I...

anybody not using lube in the fuel?

OK folks This has been hashed and re hashed. Sulfur is NOT a lubricant! period! end of discussion! Sulfur effects the burn rate of the fuel ( and in turn the higher rate of sulfur in the older fuel contributes to all kinds of nasty polution problems like acid rain etc ) but lubrication...

Agree with me that this is a stuck injector.

Trying to clean those injectors would basically be a waste. acting that bad about the only thing that would do any good would be about 4 cans of Diesel Purge, and quite honestly I really just sat back and put a pencil to that. I'm used to running that treatment on a set of Bosch Injectors on...

    ATS Air Cleaner doesn't fit!

YUP, that looks like an injection shop made that up. Good ones have the goodies but they will generally leave out any extranious bends if they dont see an immidiate reason for it to be there. . Its kind of tricky getting all those tight bends in there.

    Fan clutch and thermostat info?

Actually the temps are even hotter. I went and had custom adapters made that fit in my top radiator hose and I have 2 temp gauges probed into there. I am running a 185 deg high flow stat ( dont try this at home kids ) and I see the temps coming out of teh engine after its all been mixed up ...

Simple exhaust for every day use

I'm not talking about american truck exhaust parts, I'm talking about going to the nearest heavy truck parts supplier i.e. MAN , VOLVO Iveco, etc and getting loose exhaust pieces. THey will have just the raw pipe , pre formed bends and muffler where you can cut down and clamp together a full...

Simple exhaust for every day use

Shipping would be insane on something that heavy ( I get European car parts shipped the other way all the time ) Why don't you just find a heavy truck parts dealer and get some 4" pipe and fittings and a nice long straight through big truck muffler ( work out your bends with some old wire so...

    I need air...

Ive never used one of those compression fitting type filters. THey have a bad reputation You want the type that crimp into your existing rubber hose. If you dont own a crimper( most dont( you can take it to an ac shop and have it crimped into the hose. Go to your parts store and have them...

    Manual Tank Selector Valves

I used Moeller 4 way valves been in about 4 years or so now. Remember to grab the things evenly and turn from the center on any valve ( yes it can be done blindly with one hand ) I have my tanks each setup on their own electric fuel pump as well. Ive never had a failure with a dura lift...

    I need air...

OK folks, want to know why VOVs blow out??? Its because they get installed on DIRTY AC systems that should have been flushed and had filters installed after a compressor failure , but instead get just poked in because some folks seem to think that the orifice tube IS a filter. It might have...

    Fan clutch and thermostat info?

Ironically the one MS tech uses is supposedly a ford factory clutch that they modify, but I've sure as heck never heard of a factory fan clutch crapping out with that few miles on it
