Well couple days behind on this, but finally making a thread for a project I am working on for @saburai

This man recently purchased a rust free 94 f250 ex cab 4x4 idit e40d out of Pagosa springs Colorado. He flew out to buy the truck, and drove it down to me in Texas to work on the truck together. We are installing a 4” exhaust, @typ4 turbo, turned up baby moose, injectors, studs, and much more.

Engine is currently out and being reassembled, I’ve got to finish porting and assembling the second head, but I’ve got a good bit of pictures to sort through that I will be posting tonight. Stay tuned!

Wait one minute!!
If I am the customer, why am I laying on my back in the dirt looking up at you?cookoo

Call it the price of an education!!

Usually when someone asks me to fix their vehicle and wants to help I make them do the majority of the work.. not trying to be a **** to them, but it helps them learn and understand just what it takes.. now when it comes to my daughter's, yeah I'm better off just doing it while they observe....

I know what you are saying!
Not to be a **** either, as I am certainty new to diesel engines and the idi power plant. But I was finishing up automotive technical school about when you were born, to say nothing of the wiz kid I'm sitting next to eating lunch, well, I'm damm near three times his age. I don't really need any more "lessons" in laying in the dirt with debris and oil falling on my head...
It's all good and as I'm fond of saying,
"I'm like the fat girl at the dance. I'm just happy to be here!"

You are very well preserved. I will be 55 this year and I wish I had a tenth of Wes's exuberance, knowledge and skill. I am glad to see you buy that truck, drive it down to our part of the world and get dirty with it. My hat's off to you.

Man, not everyone can fly half way across the country to buy a truck. Then you get about 1/4 of the way home and you stop to rebuild the engine and get more power out of it too. That's cool!

Thanks!
It's all about the choices you make in life.
This truck and the upgrades we are doing to it represent a substantial investment to my wife Marketa and I. We live a humble life without much in the way of material wealth compared to the average American. We also don't have many hard commitments, so we are free to change things as we see fit. We needed a better truck and four wheel drive. Diego is a great truck! He's a bit rough around the edges, but with the turbo and other upgrades I've done, I'd drive him anywhere, towing a substantial load at that. Mechanically, he's a rock. However, this is the second year in a row that we've gotten stuck on arrival at the Yoga Ranch in the Catskills. We needed 4x4 and since the mule is kinda rough, it made more sense to upgrade to a factory 4WD truck rather than convert our current truck... Wes and I had become fast friend here on OB and he and a few others were helping us look for the Diego replacement. Well, one thing led to another and here I am in Texas at Classic Diesel Designs located on the beautiful Morris Ranch! Wes is a young gentleman who is wise beond his years and it's really been great working beside and learning more about our fantastic old idi's! It was kinda cool, today we were discussing how to proceed with the work and I realized that my truck is a bit older than the the guy who is teaching me a thing other two about it:cool

ARP studs, Comp 910 valve springs and a cleaned up engine bay waiting for a freshened up, free breathing idi:cool
You guys are sooooo lucky to have stuff like that to work with. Any "northerner" doubting the value in going south for a truck, take a look at this 24 year old example!
