That is why I am happy to be apart of this group. Being my first diesel I have learned alot and being no spring chicken I am taking my time to rebuild " Shelly" for my son to drive and hopefully not mutilate
Wes I am trying to come down for the oil cooler either this weekend or next week sometime sir.

Valve train all cleaned up and torqued down
You must be registered for see images attach

Valley pan drain modified for extra flow, installed and tagged for good luck!
You must be registered for see images attach

Valve covers on, thin layer of rtv on both sides of the gasket and three steps to 72 in lbs will make for many years of leak free driving.

Intake on and torqued down

Rich makin great progress on the firewall insulation

I found the peel and seal on a hot rod forum. It's kind of thin, but sticky as all get-out and conforms quite well. I used two and three layers in the hot Zones near the turbo and the downpipe I also did the inside of the tranny tunnel. For the money the stuff is excellent!

I've heard a lot about it inside the vehicle but always wondered how it would hold up under the hood.
