this thing runs pretty awesome for a N/A!!

I've been surprised by a couple. I got to drive a friend's once and it was way peppier than my dually. It was also a thousand or so pounds lighter LOL

I'm looking forward to this build. What did that 2wd front end come off? Looks like GM?

I was going to ask why the 14 bolt instead of the sterling, but then I remembered he's keeping the axles.

Do you have any preference between the two? From my research they seem to be about the same, with a minor advantage in aftermarket support for the 14 bolt.

I'm just excited to get the old front shackle hangers so I can get started on my build lol. I'd better get the bed off so I can get it hauled to sandblast...

I don't really have a preference. my only concern is not loosing my 1 ton suspension/axle
not a fan when people go to 5 lug on these builds.
it may be a ******* truck, but I don't want inferior bearings.
remember, the 10.5 uses all the same shat

The GM corporate 14-bolt is the strongest 8 lug axle out there bar none.
and again I'm sure pretty soon someone will chime in and argue with me just because I don't know anything.
Straddle Mount pinion, gigantic ring gear, beefy carrier bearings, axles, put a crush sleeve eliminator kit in that baby and you can beat the hell out of it.

I think that's what was in my 79 c30. Looks more like something out of a medium duty truck. Lol

welp. the goal of having something quick and dirty sure changed.
ive got a bare frame and cab coming. so im gonna build the frame on the side with the spare cab.
2wd IFS, Z the hell out of the rear frame.
gm truck arms out back. pretty much like the broncos frame, but on a stock frame.
junked the bed, because it was beat. and scored a cleaner one today.

Welcome to the single cab crew lol. plan on lowering mine this fall when work/family slows down some. Also have other kinks to work out first. Diff just started acting up yesterday and have been correcting other issues. This has been my daily here recently.
