I picked up my 7th IDI on Friday.
it cost me a truck load of parts, and I owe the previous owner, who is also a member, a set of axles.
the truck has a busted bellhousing, which I have.
then it needs to be completely rewired because I don't mess with stock wiring.

however, it is a pretty decent cab & chassis factory 4wd DRW, as far as I can tell.
have not ran the numbers yet.

it seems too clean to do what I initially intended to do!
which is a slammed single cab short bed DRW.

so, I need some input from you glorious bastards.

    KEEP STOCK
    or
    CUSTOMIZE???

No factory ac! No way! Part it out. It also has that weird and rare squatty radiator.

Slammed single cab bullnose: you’d definitely have the only one!

I really like single can dually’s, especially 4WD ones. That’s a pretty rare truck, I’d keep it stock and find a brick or OBS to slam but I’m more boring than you are.

I really liked the OBS Lightning trucks. I think a single cab dually slammed version of a lightning would be cool, but I’m super partial to OBS stuff.

Good luck: it’s a tough decision for sure!

I'm curious: How are you planning on insuring this truck?
Being as it's a CC / Incomplete Vehicle, with a decently high GVWR?

I personally ran into this with my '87 flatbed truck; same basic deal here, but because the VIN showed as Incomplete, I couldn't insure it like my other trucks(and get a multi-vehicle discount).

The only (affordable) way I could find was with a "Commercial-non-commercial" policy through Progressive... but with no multi-vehicle discounts either way. Affordable, but still more expensive than others, and a separate policy.

What are you planning on doing?

To me, 4x4 and lowered don't belong on the same vehicle. I think it's pointless to have 4x4 on one. With the 4x4, you want ground clearance which you don't have on a lowered vehicle. If you just HAVE to do something, I say get rid of this one and find another, 4x2 truck to lower.

    completely agree with you

that's the thing, if I convert to 2 wd, and slam it, he can have these axles.
I have the parts to do it :drunk:cookoo:cheers:

    I want something now.
down and dirty, and don't really give a shat about.
but whats stopping me now is the reinforced frame.
ill prolly frame swap, then …..
maybe I should get her dialed and trade someone, something.
