Edit: I just showed my wife and she asked "what speedometer does it have?" There's 85mph, 120mph, and 140mph.......she has a 140 and is unimpressed with anything less. That car has a 140, and it's hard top, so she's impressed.......good job!

I'm not going to try to tell you how to spend your money, but you weren't terribly happy with the C6 in your truck. It's obviously not an automatic, but it might be worth the investment. You could pull the engine and transmission and then resell what's left to recover part of your money.

Yeah. Just not sure that this is gonna be my "forever" truck. If it was, then I probably would. But I'm not hauling my dirtbikes to races anymore so I really don't need a bed. Still wondering if I should try to trade for something like a 4-door Wagoneer or Land Rover (from the same era).

I like it! Id buy it for $18,653.29, then Id top it of with NW Floridas finest refined WMO and send it........but yeah....turbo badging, BAE sticker......? Maybe they were turbocharged it on a budget.....this week they bought the sticker, saved for a month or so and got the chrome badge.....and then there first son was born and they couldn't invest anymore....? The notebook is cute....lol.....the bull bar is tasteful.

I'm going to say that you are both wrong and there is a turbo there for a few reasons:
1- the air cleaner sits up higher than it would on a N/A engine.
2- there's a "hose" for lack of a better term, that runs out from underneath the air cleaner. It clearly makes a turn underneath the A/C compressor and heads toward the cab. Now that routing may be backward and it comes from the cab direction and ends up underneath the air cleaner. It looks like a cheap dryer hose, but I'll bet that's some sort of covering and that there's another layer underneath the outer, plastic looking layer.
3- if you look closely, one picture shows something toward the back of the driver's side valve cover that's definitely covered in high heat insulation like the Factory Turbo has. This would mean that the turbo mounts to the top of the driver's side exhaust manifold.
I think that it's one of the "oddball", as I call them, turbo kits that were available in the early days of the IDIs. I don't know if any of them were widely sold, but there was multiple companies that made them, or at least sold them under their own name.

You're right. That's how my truck was turboed when I first got it. I didn't study it.

I believe that is an original Hypermax conventional turbo. It could be some other kind of kit, but there’s nothing about the configuration that disproves the theory.

I had a Pulse system on my 91, which varies in terms of up pipe routing from the original, “conventional” style Hypermax kit.

Both the original version and later Pulse version use a plenum to mount the OEM air cleaner.

It is really hard to see, but pretty sure you can see the compressor housing on the left side of the engine, by the master cylinder
