Some chrome is nice, I swear I need to tint my windows due to being blinded by all the chrome on all the trucks around here. But I am also light sensitive so :Whatever:

I think blacking out chrome was/is an old school mennonite custom, when I lived in PA there were a lot of vehicles like that and that was an explanation from kids on their Rumspringa that I ran into.

I do it because I really like the matte black look and matte black happens to be my fav Rust-Oleum color heehee. I just don't like shiny stuff.

I like seeing brand new cars with matte wraps on them and blacked out or matted trim.

So this truck sold for $10.5K. I probably should have done this with my Centurion truck and sold it on Bring A Trailer as I believe it was even more period correct, and I had almost as much original paperwork, with no bodywork or respray like this one that just sold. I really figured somebody on here would want it but I was moving and I passed on what I thought was a fantastic deal on a super original Centurion 6.9. Oh well, it was one of three trucks I flipped during Covid and as my buddy likes to say "you can't keep em all.......unless they are motorcycles or books. Those don't take up any space so keep all of those that you really like."

There were only a handful of comments on the bidding for this bullnose truck, I thought this one was the most entertaining and anatomically correct:

"Beautiful old girl. The 6.9 was (is) a great engine. Not the fastest thing ever made, but reliable as gravity."

Guitars don't take up much space either, and certain ones go up in value.

I hated getting rid of the 6.9 tow truck, but yeah, you can't keep everything and I needed to simplify my pile....... and yeah, Viva la 6.9!
