Anyone know the correct torque numbers for the flywheel and Intake manifold I am tired of waiting for my book to be delivered.
Thanks Jasper. That should help me out a little. Called Henry's diesel performance in Westport this morning and they still haven't even looked at my injectors and pump. They wont give me a timetable either. Bah.
I can ask the shop about using sealant on the freeze plugs. I am not sure if they are stainless because they are painted over. There is a hard gooped substance around the edges of the plugs that looks like some sort of sealant to me. I will ask them but again these guys are not hacks. Their machinist shop was cleaner than my kitchen, and they had more toys than toys R us. I don't believe they lacked to tools to do anything. But it was something i didn't know to ask about so thanks. I will run it by them.
Called shop this morning. They assured propper freeze plug installation. Flat plugs where used which is the special plug for this motor. Plugs where installed with sealent expanded with special tool. Then joe from precision engine told me he also put epoxy on the outside of the plug (The hard stuff I was talking about). He also mentioned that the antifreeze in all diesels causes an electrolysis effect. This eats away at the cylinder wall and yes freeze plugs too. He said that there is a product we can by to slow this process down by adding it to our antifreeze. He also mentioned that the 6.9 and 7.3 where notorious for these types of problems. Anyone know the product we need to add to the antifreeze?
