Well, I’ve spent the entire afternoon soaked in diesel. The jerk that came up with the design for these sending units should be drug out in the street and shot.

I tried a brand new ring and seal. No dice. So I went digging through my stash of stuff and found the gasket and ring that came with the sender. The thicker wider gasket is the one from that kit. The other is the parts store version which is identical to what comes with the spectra tanks just FYI.

Finally used a combination of the spectra ring and the big gasket and it seems to hold. The spectra ring sucks. It just barely catches the locking tabs.

So now I’m waiting for the storm to pass to set the bed on.

Finally. Even the tail gate matches.

Damn. That’s only been almost 5 years in the making.

Filler necks are in. Need to decide which harness I’m repairing and installing. Both of them had a scotch lock hidden up in behind the tail light.

Inner fenders and braces need cleaned up and installed.

There’s still stuff to do but I think I’m finally seeing actual light at the end of the tunnel and not just the train head lights.

Polished up the tail lights and patched up the tail light harness. Hopefully I’ll get it all together tomorrow.

Put the bumper back on. My little gadget works pretty good.

She is about ready for the road. Oil change. Checked fluids. Just need to put the inner fender liners back in and she’s ready to roll.

It needs a pin stripe or something. Actually strongly considering the Black bedliner up to the body line for rock guard. Then a black pin stripe in the upper body line. Still on the fence. Right now it’s a lot of red. It damn near glows in the dark.

Very red. Bet you’re excited to start enjoying your truck on the road. Just watch out for those distracted drivers!
