Greetings! I'm sorry if this has been discussed somewhere, but I've been searching for a while and haven't found a clear answer...

My father and I are replacing the Power Steering Pump on my '86 6.9, but the Pulley has to be replaced (long story). Does anyone know where I can find *just* the Pulley for sale?

After a good bit of Google-ing, I *think* the Part Number is: D8TZ3A733A

The Pulley has "D8TC-AA" stamped on it.

Any help would be SOO appreciated!

Power steering pully remover installers are often loaned or rented from parts stores.

It is a common tool

Google...

Power steering pulley puller

Usually harbour freigjt has pullers...

Good luck...

Wow! I wasn't expecting any replies this fast, let alone that many.

Yes we have a tool to remove the pulley, and we got it off of the pump. The first person to have a go at it (side-note, not me!) used one of those 3-prong type of tools. That obviously isn't what you're supposed to use. So here I am... ;)

The type I'm looking for is a "V"...if I'm saying that correctly? It's not a serpentine, and there are no other grooves where the belt goes. Those are all I can find on Google. The "V" kind is proving to be (for me, anyway) rather elusive.

*Edit*

I'll have to double-check the diameter when I go back over there in the morning.

Check with a local alternator/starter rebuilding shop.
The local guy up here is the best source I've found to buy any v-belt pulley, since the company he gets his from makes them for all applications he just calls them and tells them what he needs.
Otherwise junkyard it.

Go to a junkyard with your pulley in hand. That pulley may be used on more than trucks so look at cars also.

Thanks for the heads-up everyone. I've noted the diameter (5 3/4) and will begin my hunt tomorrow. Thanks again, and I hope everyone has a great New Year!

Thanks for that heads-up.

I knew that I read "5 7/8" on here somewhere, but I was told by two people (locally) that I was wrong. Small "victories"!

Sad to see plastic pulleys on our engines. Sorry guys.. I sure wont install a plastic pulley. I fear the plastic. I'm thinking many Ford or Mercurys run this same pulley. Might even be on the Lincoln line too.
