6.9 sudden NO power and smoking

It's on top of your injector pump where the return comes out. It's the piece that actually screws into the pump. Post #11 has a picture of it on the left side.

Shame you went through the haste of changing the whole pump just for it to be something so simple!

Never changed the pump. Changed fuel and air filters that were due. Glad I checked that check valve.

Oh I thought I read somewhere that you changed the pump.

Gotcha. Thanks for taking the time to post that.
I replaced my pump last year. I didn't know about that valve. And I don't know if a clean one came with my "new" pump or if I'm still running an old crusty one that I reconnected to the new pump.
My truck is running fine but I'm wondering if I should check that valve to see if it can run better.
