BILLOWING white smoke

I had a billowing white smoke issue that smelt heavily of fuel on a idi engine. I went through all the obvious things like pump and injectors with no luck. It ended up being a broken rocker on an inlet valve. I couldn't get air into the cylinder to ignite the fuel and it created a lot of white smoke. The oil in the coolant may a separate issue that you've found since looking for the cause of your smoke issue. That's what happened to me. Maybe you have something similar. I ended up finding it when I did a compression test.

that's good to know. My issue of smoke is intermittent so I'm still leaning toward some sort of injector issue. I'll hopefully be able to tear into it this week and get some answers.

Ok I drained a little oil and had no coolant when I first pulled the plug but I did have something in it. I suspect fuel. Here is a pic showing the oil.
I have lost some coolant so does anyone know what could have caused that? Still a cracked cup and a loose injector/blown injector seal??

thanks.

I'm getting a lot of smoke coming out from the lower hole on the far right cylinder #7. I unplugged each cylinder and got a small difference in idle with 7 and 3 and a much more noticeable difference with 5 and 1.

I am trying to figure out what is happening with my truck. It's been a few weeks as life has been crazy and I've only gotten it torn down. Reference the first post but I'm trying to see why it was BILLOWING white smoke intermittently.
I just pulled the injectors a month ago or so. This happened about two weeks after I pulled the injectors and shimmed them.
but now I'm losing coolant but none is settling in the bottom of the pan. Just milky as the first pic showed. And then the intake tube looks like it does as well as the valve covers. I changed the oil cooler Orings about a year ago FYI.

I’m sorry. I thought there might be a picture that went with this post that didn’t load.

I wonder if it’s such a slight coolant leak that the oil (over 200 degrees) is causing it to steam into the ventilation of the engine.

What do you think would account foe the ton of white smoke intermittently? Like I just started it tonight after close to three weeks and it started in two or three seconds and didn't smoke at all. But when I parked it it was blowing so much smoke you wouldn't be able to drive it on the road.

Does the oil you drained out have a fuel smell to it? After setting is whatever is in it settling or separating from the oil?
