2018 Rally Route/Convoy Thread

I have been nominated/volunteered to start the convoy for this years IDI rally. my location starting point is Rhode Island. i picked a close location to where i will be starting from.

below is the link for the route i will be taking. i will be leaving Sunday the 8th some time in the morning. for anyone that is interested if you could post the area your leaving from so i can add that to the map.

I'm game for another convoy! Did you want to meet up at the Love's in Lickdale, PA where we did last year? 22 Old Forge Rd, Jonestown, PA 17038 is the address for love's.

Well I'm leaving from approximately 30min north of Watkins Glen, NY. If anyone was to meet me in NY Watkins Glen would be best.

Google has me going down 15 to Harrisburg, PA and then catching 81. Depending on timing I'd love to convoy with a few others.

My plan is also to leave Sunday morning.

I don't think there will be anyone else coming from the West.... but we are leaving out of Bowling Green, KY on Friday the 6th. Will stop somewhere around the half way point to give the kids some out of the truck time. We'll head out for the rest of the trip the am of the 7th.

Starting out on I-65, then I-64 for most of the rest of the drive.

About 9 hours and a little under 600 miles for us this year.

My guess is.... I'm gonna be a convoy of one again.

Yeah I figured either that or in Harrisburg. It didn't look very far from my route but I hadn't checked travel time yet. I'll look it up and get back at ya.

Yeah, I'm only 20mins from Harrisburg. I'm up for meeting where ever. I know @no mufflers was in need of fuel till he got to love's near my house. But it's up to you guys, we could meet up a little south of Harrisburg too. Whatever is easiest. This year I'll be towing a camper we are borrowing from my brother's girlfriends family.

@tjsea i am having some difficulty on the map side of things trying to get to loves. hoping you can help.

from my direction i will be on 78. now it wants me to get off 78 and go on 22 to 72 then old forge road.

now is there any reason i cant stay on 78 to exit 1A to 81 and then take exit 90 to fisher ave and then its a strait shot to loves?

for some reason i cant map it out that way. can i not go into loves that way or is there just a screw up on the maps?

@no mufflers yeah the easiest is to take 78 to the end and catch 81 north 1 exit to exit 90. I've noticed google maps has been taking me some strange ways lately too. Is that the way you came down last time or did you come down 84 to 81 south?

I am 10 min below Harrisburg so that would be easy for me. I would be going the wrong direction for Loves so I might meet up a little lower.

I can't see the route posted but it might be easy to meet up in Carlisle right off 81.
