I can't believe no one has commented on this yet:

. . . working on an intake manifold that will have the intercooler built into it.

I would like to see some sketches, pics, CAD drawings or mock-ups in SolidWorks, please. This is an option I hadn't heard or thought of. I'm intrigued.

I had envisioned an old heater core with a plenum attached sitting in the valley pan [emoji23]

I’ve used these manifolds for years in drag racing, the two piece Holley high ram intakes are the most common

Now that is cool! -Drool

Wouldn't placing something like that in the intake valley require a significant change to the layout of your compound turbo setup?

More than likely, but I usually change things up a few times before I get it the way I like.

So how would you attach it to the heads, I would assume some custom tigged runners?

The top and bottom of the intake is all rolled sheet metal aluminum with 5/8” flanges

I wonder if it would be worth it to do like on the Dodge demons where they use the AC to help cool the intercooler even further

I’d build the idit engines then, the na engines are great but if you make decent power with them they tend to kick a rod at 350-450hp

* Citation needed. :)

Is this based on Justin's experience? Cuz if it is, I'm not so sure it was the HP produced. More like he over-sprayed the water **** and hydrolocked it, IMHO.

On the other hand, I've seen others break a rod for no apparent reason. Could be just a bad forging or old fatigued rod. :dunno

I see where he is coming from there are a few things different in the idit motors mainly the rods but I've been running a n/a motor with a turbo for a bit regardless more power =more fatigue on parts not made for that kind of torque and hp . I'm looking for power and reliability I love that I can go out right now and start my truck and head anywhere my heart desires and never worry about any serious problems that being said I want to take a trip up the great Alaskan highway with my truck with my 9k pound camper

Oh and iv run water **** I don't think they have a nozzle big enough to drown a idi I tried a lot and the biggest ones I would get a lot of sputter and white smoke and poor power that's all
