We can use PSD flywheel, clutch and pressure plate behind IDI with ZF and it will fit/work/not vibrate from balance issues?
The 6.9 and 7.3 IDI have the same bolt [pattern for the flywheels so it will work behind a 6.9. The PSDs use 10 bolts for the flywheel while the IDIs use 9 so they won't work on a 7.3PSD.

No. You can't use a PSD flywheel behind a IDI because it will not bolt up due to the different number of bolts. That is unless someone's done it and I don't know about it.

Wait what? We can use PSD flywheel, clutch and pressure plate behind IDI with ZF and it will fit/work/not vibrate from balance issues? I hadn't heard that. I think I have PSD flywheel somewhere around here from when I got my ZF.
I am reading that the PSD has 10 bolts that hold it to the engine, and a IDI has 9 bolts that hold it to the engine?

Yes. That is correct. Some of the IDI flywheels and flexplates do actually have 10 holes, but #10 is a lot smaller than the others and is NOT a bolt hole. It's there because some of the early crankshafts have a locating dowel on the back of them. I only mentioned that because if I didn't, someone would say that theirs has 10 bolt holes and post a picture.

Just because it is a hole, doesn't mean it is for bolts ;)

I'm about to do this same swap in my 86 - can you post some pics of your crossmember setup?

Iam using a LUK Clutch, but in my 86 with the T-19 Trans.
No complaints about it, it`s a 12" Clutch.
Iam using the Throw Out bearing from O`Really`s, all metal one.
So far so good. Been in 1 1/2 yrs so far.

I had the Clutch fail quite a few years ago, I was 25 miles from home, and had a shop replace it.
Couple years later I had this squeek, squeek, squeek sound, took a while and figured it was the TO bearing. replaced it with an O`Really one, (all metal) and couple yrs later it did the same thing. The Bearing was all floppy and loose.
Replaced with another O`R one and ran a long time till I put in the current one.

They are a sealed bearing, maybe they all come down the same China assembly line and don`t put in enough grease.
Too bad there isn`t a way to squirt in a bit more grease.
Thank You for posting this.
I was doing a Google search on the part #, and this
E-Bay listing is the cheapest I found.
$30.00 and free shipping.

Prices seem to range between, $40.97 - $99.99
Saw a Timken on E-Bay $45.00, says used but is new,
box is a bit scrunched. Made in U.S.A.
Here is a cross reference on related part numbers.
Not all are made in the U.S.A.

I know I'm late to the party, but you forgot the T-19 unicorn (which I'm holding in my hand currently as I haven't dropped my trans since I got it)
