Well someone has been partaking in too much giggle bush lately...

It's called "M@M investment cars"........i saw a truck that's worth driving but I didn't see any "investment vehicle", was there a bronco or Corvette parked behind it? I like our trucks, but they're not "investments".

Was waiting for this thread to pop back up...
I'm eyeing this for my dad as a resto project. He really wants a white truck again.

Why spend all that money on paint and body work, but not spend a bit more on a turbo and overdrive???? Pretty truck though - You will look good going 62 mph down the interstate.

If your towing or hauling heavy (what the truck is made for) no OD needed. 60mph is plenty fast in one of these trucks. And even with no turbo I bet it still pulls great. Just not as fast has some would like. People need to learn to slow down and drive correctly The towing speed limit in many states is still 55 and was 45 when this truck was new. Just because the limit is 55 does not mean you have to drive 55.

There’s nothing wrong with slow and steady, as far as it goes, but I think it is a bit subjective. I’m not too keen on the traffic in Florida or California, but if you were pulling heavy in an old truck on the interstate in Kansas, and going 20 under, you’d be causing lots of congestion, as much traffic as there is on the interstate here.

Few people in Kansas drive slow, there’s lots of distance between places of even the smallest significance, and driving isn’t particularly productive, we’ve got stuff to do. There’s another Kansan here from the western part of the state who probably has a similar opinion about this. There’s few short distances around here, and plenty of long ones. Just drove 620 miles today in fact. It’s not productive, but necessary. Driving 50-55 would have taken all day, driving 75-80 just took most, and gave me enough time to accomplish everything else I had to do today, and still make it home in time to go 200 miles in the other direction tomorrow morning, to return the night of the 4th. Not a personal trip. Driving below 40 mph on the interstate is illegal in Kansas, which, obviously, that is very slow, except in mountainous regions. But if you’re only going 55 in your NA 7.3 with 18k lbs behind you, you might only be going 40 at the top of a hill. The whole speed thing seems relative and subjective to circumstance. Just my 2 cents, the elaborate kind with the heads of wheat on the back side of the coin. Kansas out.

..... while banging your head on the back glass...... single cab?....yuck.....
Oh come now, just remove that glass, trade it for a lawn mower or3-wheeler and load in the bed.

Then cruise down the highway bathing in that man scent wafting through your new rear opening :rotflmao

You’ll be so taken by the moment you’ll miss your driveway. Scene of euphoria right there.

Just don’t forget to grab your mullet that’s being sucked out the drivers side window as you roll it up. Been known to cause knee jerk reactions of consequence. They’re currently trying to to ban mullets in 14 states. :dunno

@Nero did he take $563?

Also in some States if you aren't going the speed of traffic, regardless of posted speed, you can be ticketed for impeding traffic... Looking at you Arizona.....

My old man asked for photos of the drivers side for damage, still waiting for them. But I have a feeling I'll have another white idi in my near future.

Who? Me? :angel: I'm definitely right there with you one this one.

I do know a guy who removed his back window by loading his four wheeler with a winch on the front. There's a big advantage to keeping the spare tire in the bed and standing it up first.

Yes, you. @Rdnck84_03 is likewise a Kansan, but I haven’t personally met him. I don’t know his opinion on towing speed, but yours was easy to piece together from snippets of posts here and there. And seemed like you told me about pulling something at speed when we did meet in person.
