Dang Jared, I’m sorry for your loss. Between you and Chris and Alex’s dad that is two people close to home. Safe travels and will see you guys later this week.
Thanks Joe
In case you didn't see it, apparently Jason caught it too, so he won't be going. I don't know if you're on the Facebook group or not.
The wifey told me that last night, that sucks

I ordered a powermaster 9050 for the ol girl today. Finally got sick and tired of click click click click vroom.

I'll take the armature in and get it tested once I get this one removed. It works great, except when it doesn't....

And you'll be kicking yourself for waiting so long.

Only hurts the wallet.

I've replaced the starter a few times. Fires off quick when it spins which is almost always. It's that once in a while it doesn't spin that makes me nervous. It eventually will go, but I know one of these days it'll decide not to.

Not so much my truck but what I did was convince my dad to buy this 85 6.9! It was an old date farm truck down in So Cal outside of Palm Springs. He was able to pick it up for 3K and the guy delivered it to his house about 90 minutes away.
it needs some cosmetic work for sure but it is a 4x4 with automatic with only 85k miles on the engine. I guess he was able to verify that with the seller.
My dad has always been a gear head but this is his first diesel. So when he bought the truck I sent him some odds and ends and today we face timed as I walked him through replacing the return lines and engine temp sensor. Y’all should see how they had that thing rigged up!

What do you guys think of this?
- 7.3 IDI ran when I pulled it no oil in coolant or coolant in oil
- When I resealed it I noticed there was some cracks in one of the cylinders
- I restarted it dry and it ran fine
- it swallowed a shop rag through the intake which bent push rods
- took it apart, put it back together and restarted it
- noticed cracks got worse on one cylinder
- when I turned it over water came out the one exhaust manifold briefly and then stopped- this time I hooked up the water pump and got water in the oil, pretty much all the water went into the oil
- when I turned it over water came out the one exhaust manifold briefly and then stopped (makes me think cracked cylinder)
- I resealed the oil cooler for the second time to see if that was it, o rings looked new and no damage
- put it back together, restart, fresh oil, it's blowing the water out the radiator (like a blown head gasket) there is oil in the coolant, there is coolant in the oil (like oil cooler.
- pulled glow plug on cracked cylinder and turned over and didn't see any mist of water

Thoughts?
It's all over the place at the moment might have to tear it all the way down to the block and sleeve it.

I would sleeve it, if that is practical for you.

Thinking about it you still need a crack free block to set the sleeve. This block is already 40 over so there's not really any room to go. I guess I'll pull the oil cooler apart for the third time to take a look.
