Noise when engine is shut down

On a 1999 dodge 2500 with the 5.9l cummins and 5spd. After the truck is killed it makes this fairly loud growling noise for just a second. Sounds like it coming from the passenger side. Any ideas?

Turbo. The truck have an after market intake?

Yep I'm going with turbo as well. I could hear mine when I shut her down, what you are hearing is the wheel spinning down.

Its not a turbo spool sound its more of a growl/grinding noise. It doesnt do it all the time just occasionally, and where usualla a turbo will spool down this is kind of a grrrrtt and just about that long too,

Sounds like your cerpintine belt may be gettin old! Mine did that right before I replaced it!
