I have held out this long, I will not give in to using my grinder, that little tab on the left is a nuisance.

we dont wanna see your ratchet sucka! LOL
i wanna see the 6 door, where it was cut to add the extra CC,
the attempt of fiberglassing on the roof too
and underneath where the bed was chopped.
i need to build another bed, i fracked this one up because i was in a hurry.
i have one to build, and i should of done it the way yours is done.
lesson learned.

Gotcha, what I saw interested me too, instead of adding onto the back, he inserted the addition into the middle of the cab, that way he created an overlap with excess sheet metal from the donor. The bed isn't done the greatest, I'm gonna be adding bondo no matter what, but the top of the cab just needs more support at the singular weld on it.. the underneath is two welds at the post and the roof is in the back at the post and the other is actually at the bottom of the window pillars. I'll upload pics. Phones almost dead and had to give my kids baths.

the battery is still low to let me use flash for underneath but I will include the frame extension and both cuts underneath. I think I actually like using the frame he did it may have actually minimized how much you have to cut into the floor.

doing bondo over metal work.
is something you do not want to do.
it will last a few years, but then, fall out... literally.
you need to clean all the rust off it, with a rolox, and or grinder.
wire wheels push garbage into the metal.
and use a fiber bond first.
this will seal the metal and ensure no moisture gets behind it.
then bondo.
and only bondo to bare metal, or bondo itself.
never over paint.

100% with you there. So which one of those gear wrenches are you? The old man or the young pup? I haven't decided on what exactly I'm gonna do with that seam yet, the lines are straight, it's just bowed down a little. I don't think it's actually fiberglass, it truly looks more like epoxy, either way, it's not staying. I just might cut into the donors roof in the middle and overlap the section on the weld. And then sand the edges down. I don't know yet, I've gotta get that cap off of it once I get to that point and then see what I've got.

If I had done the cab, I would have put support bracing in between the inner and outer sheet metal, too much flex at the joint.

here's what I could get tonight, that's cool how you started in on your truck, you remind me a lot of my uncle. He's a BBC kinda guy though. Seen that hand rolled hog leg of cigarette sitting next to the Arizona tea too. Cool.

Well, I've got both the interior and exterior woring harness swap done. All but 3 motor mount bolts left driver side on the powerstroke, and 4 on the same side of the idi. If I could get on a frame rack and had a different front clip I think I could have this entire project done on my 4 days off. Oh well, payday tonight, so parts are being ordered tomorrow lmao! I remembered to go ahead and clean the pcm slot for a chip lmao, that was a pita to get out, the aluminum had oxidized to the bracket. Tomorrow I may take a break being my last day off and see about hunting up a front clip and solid front axle for my next time off. Think I just might do a IDM mod tonight as well.

Oh get this, been thinking a lot, the radiator support on the donor is rotted, and instead of taking the time to unbolted it out of the way, I have decided I will break out the saws all, and cut it into the clear..... lol
