That foam they put in there has to be the stupidest thing ever. It is bound to hold water and rust. I dutifully removed all of it from inside my cab corners.

This came off Kelsters seized 7.3 IDIT here as a core for the engine I sold him....

Now the ? Is it worth swapping...know one knows..so I will witness mark my current IP amd give this one a whirl fer shtzngigglze..

Thanks for looking.

Picked up shorter belt for Alt for 3 g swap...I plan to do serp later in 91.

For now I gotta have 1 truck solid and this one is proving itself as ok..but tired engine.

Will keep working on it. Just picked up oil for Black mamba diff and tcase to ensure its A O K ...last would be coolant flush just because.....LOL

But on this one I am going try do king pins tomorrow if possible.

I got my 60 gal air tank psuedo plumbed into my lil 2hp 20 gap comp and some 1/2" air line direct from the 60 gal setup w fittings for my 1" IR impact so hopefully king pins come out presto chango like with that monster.

If not I will cut around base of KP cones to lessen tension from being bolted in place and under load....that should make for easy peasy work.

Just sayin...

Also aranged w local truck shop mechanic to swing buy w 600 lb ft tq wrench amd tighten new ones in place for case cold ones.

If this truck doesnt get new engine and black truck goes on road....then black truck gets this D60 asap.

Thanks for looking

Got here so far today.....I can only get 120 PSI in my air system should be 160 for this bad boy...I am running off a 2hp comp w 15 gal tank and then a line plumbed to a 60 gal tank and 1/2" id line to the gu from 60 gal

Now it is time to cun a cut wheel circumferntially around base of cones and in 1/4" leaving about 1/16-1/8" above C so it releives tension against C

This is where I left it both sides same.

Hope have this done asap.

Found out why 4 wd wouldnt work...pass side locking hub was NFG...

Now do I drop carrier....remove leaky seals and install new omes....then install the Spartan Lunchbox Locker???? LOL

Thanks for looking

So a 1" IR gun on 120 psi through 1/2" air line couldnt do it....but likely more pressure would have.

So here I am now....cut cones.....same setup as above and no go....***

Out comes oxy acet and heat C up..voila got it...both sides....

Both cones look same just pitted like the moon.

Lower races looked ok but bearings had much pitting on several rollers and the cages..pics to come...

I didn't have to heat mine. Just set it to tighten and let it hammer a few seconds the reverse and out they come with my whimpy half inch gun. You are absolutely right, there is nothing at all fun about that job. Even up on a table at standing height it's unpleasant.

Started amd got most components cleaned amd prepped for assembly.

Discovered 2 bad U joints in both my axles which was a large part of my steering issue and the cause of my one lockout hub being destroyed.

My axles from my other KP 60 are in really nice shape so I am installing those along w a replacement lockout hub.

Installed lower bearin

Decided inner seals today and am I ever glad I made that choice..wozers....

Opened up cover dropped out oil and it was a mucky cafe latte colour.. LOL filled with samd and all kinds of torturous materials...

Drove out seals took a toilet brush amd shoved it througj axle tubes to clean out material...then lastly a solvent soaked rag...worked well.
