400 km road trip yesterday....ok so in very tight turns in parking lot...bitta buck heave ho but acceptable. No ill mammered behaviour on roads.

Gearing is ideal for truck...runs fantastic w 4.10's its ideal but I imagine when I run 38's I should run considerably lower gears.

Engine is burning oil and blowing blue constantly whilst driving...so engine re n re in near future.

Going fill truck again to brim...and determine actual fuel usage....scares me ...

Thanks for looking

So have...HAVE TO wire 7 pin flat RV trailer plug into my truck...

Starting by making components...for examlle main BRAKE and Bat + wires in loom.

I use semi trailer style connection boxes. Tap into rear tail light harness w a 4 wire trailer plug...cut off plug and wire to the box. A single pigtail then wires to my plug. Also adding a 7pin plug into the box fkr 5TH wheel/Goose neck or a slide in camper.

Pics to come.

So....there's no electric pump in there?? I didn't realize they would run up & down the highway without a lift pump. Am I missing something???

The IP will pull fuel to a certain extent. I don't think it's terribly happy doing it but none the less.

Ford diesels didn't get an electric fuel pump til... 1999?
It won't run 100%, but they will run okay with no lift pump on a tight system.
Heck, the duramaxs didn't even have a lift pump for awhile. Just the high pressure injector pump. Lol

I thought maybe there was an electric pump added at some point and THAT was keeping the engine going. I always figured that these engines would idle ok but not pull a load unless it had good lift pump supply. Interesting.
