hey guys im looking at a new ip for my truck... its rebuilt and never been installed, its acouple years old i think. should it still be good?
prepowerstroke said the lines were on it as well as the housing, with no plugs.
from the description he gave i would say it it not a fresh, unrun rebuild. buy it as a core.
Exactly, any unsealed pump of personally unknown history should be considered nothing more than a rebuildable core. This is how a heavy truck parts wrecking yard would sell one. THis is why in the heavy duty used parts market, many wrecking yards will have names like " Core Exchange" because they dont ride on the myth that used parts will carry you along anywhere, they are simply sold to replace cores that are thrashed beyond repair to get things back into service( they will all warrant the units rebuildable, and many will offer resealing service for trannys and rears and sell those with a limited warranty , but thats about it)
Considering the amount of work involved in swapping a pump, I'd want to know for dang sure what I was getting and it better be priced right , or it''s time to keep shopping
...and what do I do if it attacks me in the wild ........any suggestions?
Ya....sleeping cougars...um ok...where can I get one of those...and what do I do if it attacks me in the wild while out on a search n rescue task...any suggestions?
