I just dropped the tranny pan on my c6 and I am letting the rtv dry overnight before I fill it up.
I read that I should drain the tourqe converter to get all of the old fluid in it out, I know I need to remove the cover and bump the engine over until I see the drain plug. But my question is when I drain it will it fill itself back up when I fill the tranny up and run it ?
I am pretty sure it will but I want to ask before I screw something up !
The stock c6 holds 14quarts ??????

....But I really don't think so...
. Second, Take a steel straight edge place it over the pan rails ( gasket side). Now any high bolt hole. Tap them down using a hammer and a piece of steel. I use a body hammer and a dolly for this. Check the pan rails again with your straight edge. Once it is flat, reinstall it with a new gasket. Tighten the bolts 10-15 foot lbs no more.
