So after trying to find a oil cooler. I was able to track down the leak, turns out my head gasket is weeping coolant out on to my exhaust. So my question is would just an OEM gasket with the ARP head studs be a good way to go? Or is there a better gasket I should get? Then what's a safe psi my turbo should be pushing ?

i would not just simply change headgaskets without getting the heads checked out.
at a minimum, get them pressure checked, and mag'd
i would advise a valve grind and guides too.

what turbo?

ATS and I'm wondering if I should find another motor that runs and put my turbo on it with the studs. Because I don't know if he just slapped on a turbo to try to sell me a ****

I would pull the heads, have them inspected and reworked (new guides if needed, valves ground, valve seals, surfaced if needed).. then oem or felpro head gaskets. As far as studs go, if you plan to keep the truck fairly stock, then its not a must. If you want to go with a bigger pump, more boost, etc.. down the road, then it would be wise to go on and do head studs while you are there.

As far as another engine is concerned... it can be a crap shoot as well. Never know what you are going to come home with. If this engine ran good with no over heating, excess blow by, etc..... I'd stick with it

Well I already have a turbo that's on it and I'm wondering if that's what caused the issue. But I do want to know if I keep it fairly stock what a safe amount of boost is

Guys have ran 15+ psi on stock bolts and stock internals. If I were planning on more then 12-15psi, I would go on and stud it.

Keep in mind that the early turbo engines were originally NA... so no, adding the turbo kit didnt cause it unless you are running high boost.

What is your reasoning for thinking you may have been lied to about the truck? What is its history?

$200? Where are you buying arp headstuds for $200?

The cheapest I've ever seen them was over $450.

Do tell where you found them for that as I'm sure there are plenty of people who wouldnt mind picking up a set at that cost.
