Grass mowing and springtime chores have started so my available time for the crewcab has dramatically dropped off. Still working on the bed cross members however I did pick up two new batteries. Also still waiting on the replacement inner steel dually wheel. Plan is to push through and finish this project this summer.

Final cleaning of the bed and all of the spot weld holes welded shut. Next will be painting the entire underside with POR15.

Just some FYI here for anyone who might remove dually fenders. You'll likely break a few of these unique fasteners (see pics). I tracked them down and found Ford part number. They come packaged six per bag.
I'm headed to garage and start the por 15 pant job. Pics when it's done.

Heck of an "introduction" to Powerstroke Diesel & Super duty. Probably the best way to learn is just do it! Certainly not claiming to be an expert on anything, however it was a great "first experience" with powerstrokes. Learn a lot!

Pulled the old girl out of the garage for a little "look see" in the light of day. First it's been out of the garage for some time. Still needs a few things, biggest will be the paint. Unsure of color, been considering everything from maintaining original dark shadow Gray, or green, or blue, or even another black truck.

Good grief, that's a fine looking rig!
Imho, that gray is sharp. Not something you see everyday. I'm also a fan of blue. Hard choice, lol.
I'll be glad if my 99 looks half that good

First test drive something definitely wrong! Zero power, total pooch. Idles fine, I can hear the turbo, no check engine light, oil pressure and coolant temps normal, no smoke. It takes 1/4 mile to get into 3rd gear. Throw even the smallest hill in front of it and I'm down shifting. No funny noises or smells and it does have a new air filter. 4" straight pipe exhaust and like I said you can easily hear the turbo is working. Thought I remembered reading something about possible fuel issue when you replace injectors??? Powerstrokes are new to me so any ideas are welcome!

Not sure if this is your issue, but it can take a while to get all the air worked out of the oil and fuel system for the injectors when you have had them apart and are "dry"......

Sure hope it's something that easy. I'll take it for a little drive each evening here on the back country roads and hopefully get lucky and it straightens out. Happy with everything other than this extremely low power issue. Seems very quiet & tight. Thanks for the advice and I'll let you all know how things work out.
