I think you're going to need a c6 from a diesel for it to work. I don't believe the bolt pattern is the same.

They're right, you'll need a diesel C6. Cheap and readily available however. Every once in awhile one comes available from a swap. Do you want to keep the auto, or would you prefer an NP435/T18/19?

An F150 frame is an F150 frame. It is not the same as an F-250 frame. That said it is heavier than the 80 - 96 F150 frames that were made lighter for fuel economy.

Where are you located? I'm looking for a 351M / 400 and C6 for my 77 Hi-Boy.

its a 250 frame everything but the axles are heavy duty but will it bolt up to the stock c6?

So first it's a F150 Campers Special with a 351M, now it's a F250 frame with heavy duty axle(s) so now it's a 4x4 too? I could be wrong but weren't the 70s Fords with the Camper Special 2wd with a 460 & a tool box? So is the rearend a Dana 60 or a 9"? The 9" is tough but might need alittle building to hold up everyday. Also going to have to beef up the frontend to hold up to the added weight & stress of the Diesel.
I'm just trying to get everything straight so we all know what's going on!

"Camper special" has heavier rear springs, a transmission cooler, and a bigger radiator. Also a larger alternator and trailer wiring. Engine choice was was FE or 460, or later 351M 400 or 460.

The 9" should handle a NA IDI just fine. After all they are a favorite of drag racers puting down more power than that. The 9" just can't handle a lot of axle weight since it's a semi float axle.

Hmm, 79 F150 EX cab, that's a leaf sprung truck if I remember right? If so, and I'm pretty sure it is, it is as he says 3/4 ton chassis with 5 lug axles.
Yet another oddball Ford truck.... LOL

Sorry but FE's are not offered in the 77 and on up! 1976 is the last year of the FE....
