I love my old truck and hate to sell it so I will probably rob all of the parts I need off of the donor truck and save them for that one day I finally get fed up with the zf and swap it over. Thank you to everyone for all of the excellent advise and help. P

I wanted to change any gaskets that were difficult with the engine in place. I see though that the oil pan uses a two part sealant from ford. I did find that moroso makes a reusable oil pan gasket. Has anyone used this? It is like $100 for one but if it keeps me from having to turn over the engine on a stand, that I do not possess, them I'm all for it.

From the other forums, I hear they work well.
While the pan is off would be a good time to reseal the dipstick adapter.

I guess you could. Lol I think have seen that before.
But replacing the oring and loctite on the nut will also suffice.

I'm really hoping to not have to go there yet. That thing is so expensive.

It's a nice piece for sure, but made with the intention of doing it without pulling the pan. I would just do the ford kit and save some money. If use some loctite or rtv on the nut, it should never become a problem.

Excellent. And I have pulled the tranny out but not the engine with the tranny still in. Will I have to move the zf5 at all when I pull or reinstall the engine? I am just looking for some experience to make sure I don't run into any surprises.
