I have 180K on my '94 IDI Turbo, and she is still running great. What condition are the bodies on the Sub and the F250? I would rather pull wrenches than do body work any day...
I find it takes me about 6 months or so until I am comfortable with a "new to me" vehicle. By then I have had...
Another nod for the Tru-cool tranny coolers. I also really like having a tranny gauge on my truck. Back out of the foot feed when the temps start to climb on the hot days.
GM offers a rebuilt tranny, complete with a 3yr 60,000 mile dealer warranty. I put one in my Suburban, and it has...
I own a 95 Suburban 4X2 1500 - 350 TBI (same engine as yours) 3.73 gears 4L60E trans. I bought a Jayco 27BH travel trailer and basically "sized" it for the Suburban - no slides to keep the weight down, etc. It is about 6000# loaded. It pulled it fairly well, but I never had it out to British...
I agree with Compu Doc. Now that I have 8 new ones installed, there is no clicking (which it used to do, at least 2/8 bad plugs), the light stays on longer, but I think you should still see the volt gauge drop down with the glow plugs on.
I didn't test mine before hand using Agnem's test...
Or another link I just stumbled onto here...

I picked up my set of books a year or so ago from www.helminc.com. I see that they no longer have them in stock, and I suspect that they might not print any more copies...?
I am not sure what the copyright issues might be, but if you would like to PM me, I can try and provide with the...
I replaced 6 of the glow plugs last night. They came out quite easily (thank goodness!). She seems to start better, although it is not overly cold up here, yet.
My question is, is there an "easy" way to get the 2 right rear plugs out without removing the factory turbo? I moved the GP...
Jump on the internet and punch in the part number (no spaces on the part#). They come up at 2.99. I couldn't believe it!
I am glad the wife was down in the USA and was able to pick up a set of 8 for me.
Just thought I would share the good fortune... (smiley)
Thanks,
Rob.
Z D 9 glow plugs - $3 bucks a pop at Auto Zone. Guess what the old girl is getting in the next week or so...
I have them in my hands, and they are Berus.

"However, my boss is less than comfortable with me driving something that quite frankly, is more reliable than his 07' BMW..."
Hilarious!
Enjoy the new rig.
A friend of mine has an '02 Dodge 3500 with the large factory fold out trailer mirrors (not power). The convex mirror on the passenger side fell off one day, and broke when it hit the ground. He would like to get a new one, if for no other reason than to bring the truck back to its original...
Hi dbarilow,
My '94 F250 Club Cab isn't the best in slippery conditions either. I have a topper on it, as well as a tool box right behind the cab with about 200# of "stuff" in it.
Even with brand new tires on the back end, I got stuck last spring on a slight incline trying to push the...
I just did the oil gauge mod posted at http://www.thedieselstop.com/contents/getitems.php3?Real%20Oil%20Pressure%20Gauge%202
I checked the pressure with a mechanical gauge and I was seeing 35 PSI at idle, and 50 PSI at 2000 RPM on a "cold" engine with new 10W30 oil in it. The sendor is...
icanfixall - yeah, you definitely don't want to fill her to the top before putting it on...! I can only imagine the words used to describe the spill. Makes it that much easier to tighten with the sides coated with fresh oil.
It is worth adding oil to it before installing though, just to get...
Thank you for all of the input.
I pulled off the FL784 tonight, and put on a Fleetguard LF3630 (FL1995 equivalent). It fit in nicely, although I did gently change the shape of the brake line running across the twin I beam. It is nice to see the bigger filter in there. I would say that it...
Thank you for the feedback!
I suspect there may be a bit more room on the 4X4s with the solid axle, compared to the 2WDs, since the links on the twin I beam seem to come back a fair ways. That said, I see there are a few guys with 2WDs using the FL1995, so I will have to give it a try...
1994 7.3 IDI turbo 2WD with E4OD
I am currently using the Ford FL784 filter. I was wondering if anyone is using the taller PStroke FL1995 filter? It looks like the brake lines and twin I beam would make for a very tight fit. I wouldn't mind having the extra capacity of the FL1995, but not...
I had a leak on the #7 (right rear) injector. Changed out the seals and thought I had it beat, but then #5 started complaining - so I ended up replacing #5, #3 and #1 as well. The rubber appears to have dried up over the years, and as soon as the lines leading up to the next injector get...
icanfixall,
With regards to locating the pyro sensor, my thoughts were that it would be best to mount it in the manifold near where the crossover bolts up, to get the most accurate reading of piston temps. Is there a significant amount of heat loss between the manifolds and the turbo? Just...
F350Camper,
I hadn't thought about the bit breaking off - probably because I don't seem to own any really small ones anymore. They are missing out of all of my drill kits because they - um - broke.
Would you pull the manifold or drop the crossover? It would be nice to drill the manifold...
I ordered the same gauges earlier this week. I can't wait for them to arrive.
I had read an article on drilling for the pyro (can't find it right now), and they recommended running the drill bit dry , but working your way up in drill size in very small increments. That way any shavings are...
I didn't see any mention of the year of the vehicle you were looking at, but from the 1994 service manual:
G = C6
T = 4 Speed AOD (their wording, not mine)
E = E4OD
F,C,M,W are for manuals.
So I would suspect an E4OD...
I would like to hear what you think of the Sonnax valve once you...
I really like the color combo that you have. I don't recall seeing one with that two-tone color scheme before.
Mine is standard white, but she runs great just the same.
