while i was on it i did the carrier baring. it has been long due and the rubber was all warn out and it was getting noisy.

i noticed i have the smaller size baring. i was hoping it would be the larger one. does anyone know what model trucks had the larger baring?

I got some headway on the hood and some other odds and ends. today I sorted some wires for the trailer harness, it has needed to be done for a while now. I finally put new window seals in the front doors, just the in and out scrappers and the strip that goes in the window frame. I still need them for the back so its added to the list.

I mounted the hood for another test fit. the last thing to fab on it are a few little braces and a frame that surrounds the IC. it will mainly be there to funnel the air on the IC rather then spreading it all over the place. the more I look at the more of a pain in the ass it will be, but I think it will help a lot with the air direction.

the ford emblems on there are staying chrome but the big IH emblem will be molded into the hood and painted black. I think it will make it blend in nicer not look too busy.

I wish I had a number to give you. it seems to cool it a fair amount so I would guess a lot of air but im not even sure how you would measure that.

anyone have a wind tunnel with that fancy visible air?

I bet its a lot!
I can stick my head out the window if i really want it quantified lol.

Looks awesome too

Think the air lifts on the hood? Just pondering if itll break the hood latch going into a head wind

I would bet the scoop puts a lot of lift on that hood. Better have some strong hood latches!!

Hate to see you traveling down the freeway and the hood blow open. That would suck.

I have been doing some routine maintenance on the truck just to check it all over. such as, a full grease job, check frontend parts, rebalanced all tires, top off all fluids, tighten all hose clamps and im sure a few other things.

I have the hood all done in the metal fab department. the inner structure is all done and welded up. its not perfect and I would change a few things but it will work and I just need to get it done. I don't have much time so ill get as much primer, seam sealer, bondo and paint on there I can.

pictures to come.

I'd measure underhood temp, put any slow-reacting thermometer under and drive it around. Won't give a comparison unless you have an unmolested hood to swap in or old data.
