I'm STOKED. The second package with the other goodies is marked for delivery tomorrow.

I got a quote from someone to blast the frame because I'm not sure if it will fit in our booth at work.... $800 to blast it, I can buy a LOT of sanding pads for that! I'm hoping it will fit in the booth at work.

I need to strip it and get going but I've got to deal with this first.....

And before I can do that I have to get the garage cleaned up because I'm doing the front end on my Brother in Law's Jeep tomorrow and hopefully struts and brakes on the wife's car Sunday.....

Yes, err... No... Er.... Umm.... Maybe?

I'll link you to my thread for some light reading lol! As usual, the original project "slightly" snowballed

https://www.oilburners.net/threads/talk-me-out-of-it-tractor-fel-build.88990/

Original plans were to fix it and mow with it. Then I decided to build a loader for it, then I decided to replace the little gas engine that smoked worse than my IDI.... With a different, smaller IDI :D

$800 to blast that frame seems pretty high to me.

Absolutely! I got a much cheaper quote, but from a guy who thinks he's the best in the business but does crappy work..... I would actually trust him for the BLASTING but not the painting, fact is I'm avoiding him out of principal.

I can probably get it done for $100 at work, if it actually fits in the booth.....

You don't know how to weld? Or you don't know how to cut? LOL

You beat me to it. My next question was going to be, who said anything about cutting the frame? LOL

As I've said before, you and I would be dangerous together LOL

A while ago one of the sensors for the door malfunctioned and the maintenance guy said something about it won't run without the switch (ie door closed).

I walked away and muttered under my breath (it would if you bypassed the $#@# switch....)

But you know, "safety first" and I'm just a stupid truck driver what do I know........

Harbor Freight has a "Pressurized Abrasive Blaster" for $139.99

If it lasts longer than doing the frame..
I bet you could find all sorts of other projects that need to be blasted. (even if they didn't know they needed it)

I actually have one, I had forgotten about it to be honest. I was hoping to avoid the associated mess but that's definitely a viable option.

I had my truck frame done for about $250 I think. The wanted another 200 to epoxy prime it. That was a mistake on my part. Should have let them do it. Sand blasting place here in MD.
