Hey there, so sorry to drop off. I am dealing with a health issue for my Mom and have totally been focusing on that. I'm out of town all next week but will be diving into this when I return.

Any update? It seems my RV's cable has stretched, so I need to consider replacing it now too.

No idea on the RV/van cables...but I can say that I had to both fabricate a spacer for the throttle pedal on my '90 pickup AND add a bunch of tiny zip ties to the pedal end of the cable to make it work right.

It's one of the aftermarket parts store cables, though I don't remember exactly which one now...I went through about 6 different cables trying to find one that wouldn't melt in a day from turbo heat (finally ended up shoving this one through a spark plug insulator wrap/boot that has the appearance of a metallic blanket on the outside), and it's been holding for quite some time without any hints of an issue.

But my spacer + zip ties have probably taken up 2-3 inches worth of excess inner cable.

Sounds like they gave you a 92 up cable.

Just FYI for those of you that get stuck using an aftermarket throttle cable that is too long to get full throttle ( they all are). Use the crimp on lead fishing line weights they work a hell of a lot better than zip ties and whether you fish or not you probably have some somewhere, it usually only takes one maybe 2 and I have also fixed throttle cables this way when the pedal end broke off.
